Amphibious aircraft AG600 obtained a market "access permit"

On the 20th, the AG600 aircraft, which was completely independently developed in accordance with my country's civil aviation airworthiness regulations, was awarded the China Civil Aviation Administration model certificate in Beijing, marking that the civil amphibious aircraft with the largest take-off weight in the world passed strict testing and verification, and its development was a complete success and it obtained a "access certificate" for entering the market.

The AG600 aircraft, code-named "Kunlong", is the first large-scale special-purpose aircraft developed by my country to meet the urgent needs of forest fire extinguishing and water rescue. When performing forest fire extinguishing tasks, it can draw 12 tons of water on the water surface within 20 seconds, and can travel back and forth between the water source and the fire site many times to throw water to extinguish the fire.

Since the AG600 aircraft officially submitted its model certificate application in 2012, it has gone through important moments such as the first flight on land, the first flight on water, the first flight on sea, and the full completion of the approval and test flight project. Now it has finally completed the final battle of the approval process.

"The successful development of the AG600 aircraft is a "big cooperation" and "big breakthrough" under the new national system." At the certification site, Huang Lingcai, chief designer of the AG600 series of China Aviation Industry Corporation, said in an interview with a reporter from Science and Technology Daily that 22 provincial administrative regions, 296 enterprises and institutions, and 16 universities in China have formed a joint development team to innovate and form a core technology system for large amphibious aircraft in my country, build a "small core, big cooperation" development model, and establish a large amphibious aircraft design, production and manufacturing, system supporting, test flight, and support service system, so that my country has the technical and industrial ability to independently develop large amphibious aircraft, filling the domestic gap.

"Recalling the days and nights of our development team accompanying and caring for the AG600 aircraft from blueprint to airworthiness, and in order to ensure the successful evidence of the model, I am not only moved, but also thankful." Huang Lingcai recalled those moments of fighting side by side with the team, and tears were in his eyes. "Today is a milestone that has condensed the hard work of countless people, and it is also the first page of a new chapter. In the future, we will continue to redouble our efforts for the practical application of the AG600 aircraft and work tirelessly to improve the national emergency rescue system."

In the next step, China Aviation Industry Corporation will accelerate the production and delivery of AG600 aircraft, continue to strengthen operational capabilities, achieve normalized emergency response, continuously improve aviation emergency rescue equipment and service systems, and fully support the construction of a strong aviation country, a safe China, and a strong maritime country.
