  On the 11th, Cui Yehan, chairman of the International Alliance for the Protection of New Variety (UPOV), made the above statement at the "Summit on Cultivating New Quality Productivity in the Forestry and Grassland Field and Transformation and Application and Development of Excellent New Variety" held in Kunming, Yunnan.

  The two-day summit, with the theme of "Transformation and Application of New Excellent Plant Variety and Cultivation of New Quality Productivity in the Forestry and Grassland Field", was hosted by the National Innovation Alliance for New Excellent Plant Variety, and attracted more than 160 domestic and foreign experts, scholars and corporate representatives to attend the conference. The guests held in-depth discussions on issues such as protection of new plant varieties, intellectual property strategies and new quality productivity cultivation.

  "China's new plant varieties have achieved remarkable results. With the continuous improvement of the rule of law in the seed industry market, it has further stimulated the innovation vitality of the seed industry." Cui Yehan said at the meeting that in 2023, the annual application for protection of new plant varieties in China has exceeded 14,000, accounting for more than half of the world.
