iQiyi and Egypt's leading platform WATCH IT reach cooperation to help China-Arab cultural exchanges

On May 11, Egypt time, iQIYI and WATCH IT, a leading media platform in the Middle East, officially signed a content cooperation agreement. The two parties will carry out in-depth cooperation on content mutual broadcasting, localized operations and cultural dissemination to jointly enrich the digital content market in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).

This contract is an important part of the "Audio-Visual China·Love Beijing Night" event held by the Beijing Radio and Television Bureau in Cairo, Egypt. Under the joint witness of leaders and guests from all parties, Wang Zhaonan, vice president and editor-in-chief of iQiyi, and Ms. Nashwa, CEO of WATCH IT, signed a contract on behalf of both parties.

According to the agreement, iQiyi will authorize the WATCH IT platform to broadcast a number of excellent Chinese-language film and television works, including top dramas such as "The Road Back" and "The Strange Things of the Tang Dynasty". Against the backdrop of the continued rise in global search popularity of Chinese content, this cooperation will increase the market penetration of Chinese works in the Middle East, especially Egypt through WATCH IT's mature local distribution network, and promote Chinese culture to better go global.

At the same time, iQiyi's main website will introduce a series of humanistic documentaries "Mother of the World" produced by WATCH IT. The film is based on archaeological evidence and systematically shows the development history of ancient Egyptian civilization. iQiyi International Edition will introduce high-quality original Arabic content from WATCH IT to enrich the overseas content ecosystem.

Wang Zhaonan said at the signing site that WATCH IT has been deeply involved in the Egyptian and Middle East markets and is a media entertainment group with strong production and communication capabilities; iQIYI takes Asian content as the core and actively carries out international business layout, and has now formed four key operating areas including Southeast Asia, North America, Japan and South Korea, and the Middle East and North Africa. iQiyi is particularly looking forward to better serving audiences in the Middle East and North Africa through cooperation with WATCH IT, and better promote cultural exchanges and mutual learning between the two countries.

This cooperation marks the strategic upgrade of iQiyi in the Middle East and North Africa market, helps to enhance the influence of Chinese culture in the Middle East and North Africa region, and promotes the coordinated development of the digital content industries of the two countries.
