China's scientific and technological innovation achievements are accelerated to be implemented and integrated into daily life

Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, May 11 (Reporters Li Chunyu, Jining, Yangna) When cold machines are close to life and are given warmth, it always makes people feel more intimate. From May 8 to 11, the 27th China Beijing International Science and Technology Industry Expo was held at the National Convention Center to display a number of latest R&D achievements with practical application scenarios and promote the deep integration of scientific and technological innovation and industrial innovation.

Founded in 1998, the Beijing Science and Technology Expo is an important platform for concentrated display of China's scientific and technological innovation achievements. This year's exhibition area is about 50,000 square meters, and more than 800 domestic and foreign companies and institutions participated in the exhibition, covering information technology, intelligent manufacturing, medical and health, green dual carbon and other fields.

In the Science and Technology Expo exhibition area, a long queue was lined up in the autonomous driving simulation experience area of the Fuxing EMU with a speed of 350 kilometers per hour. Under the guidance of the on-site staff, the visitors "drived" the Fuxing EMU slowly drove out of Beijing North Station by operating the simulated cockpit equipment in front of the display screen of the virtual scene.

From taking the high-speed rail to "opening" the high-speed rail, this Science and Technology Expo allows the public to further understand the scientific and technological achievements that have been integrated into daily life, and also outline the beautiful picture of future industries through exhibition displays.

Also attracted by onlookers in the exhibition area is a "digital Chinese medicine" meridian-circulating conditioning robot. This product uses deep learning artificial intelligence vision system to complete the planning and extraction of the whole body meridian path in a short time. It holds a multi-physical field conditioning head by a double-arm robot, and uses high-speed shock, constant temperature thermal field, and magnetic therapy technology to accurately control the meridian location, stimulation intensity, stimulation depth and its acting time.

"It won't break the skin or feel very painful. You can complete an immersive physical therapy experience through the meridian conditioning robot in about 30 minutes to experience the modern development of traditional Chinese medicine." Xu Ranting, assistant general manager of Zhongke Shangyi Health Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd., introduced that the robot has provided services to professional athletes at Beijing Sports University to help relieve muscle pain and promote physical recovery.

In recent years, as traditional Chinese medicine further opens up foreign markets, "digital traditional Chinese medicine" will also take the "express train to go overseas". Xu Ranting said that the company is currently actively planning overseas markets and striving to bring more products such as etiology and conditioning robots to the world.

Beijing Changmugu Company, which is engaged in the research and development of orthopedic artificial intelligence technology and the application of surgical robots, demonstrated all orthopedic surgical robots on the spot and released the innovative results "AI+Digital Intelligent Orthopedic Full Process Solution".

Liu Xingyu, general manager of Beijing Changmugu Company, introduced that all orthopedic surgical robots use artificial intelligence technology to make orthopedic surgery more accurate and efficient, effectively shorten the surgical time, and promote the intelligence of orthopedic treatment with artificial intelligence and surgical robots as the core.

In the exhibition area, various scientific and technological innovation achievements empower thousands of industries. Intelligent learning machines and new translation machines based on artificial intelligence models achieve personalized and precise services; industrial humanoid robots are agile, improve their understanding of space through semantic programs, and complete handling work; "spider robots" that can climb vertically and inspect and repair can cope with complex scenarios and be competent for difficult tasks...

The implementation of scientific and technological innovation achievements also requires the protection of intellectual property rights. This year's Science and Technology Expo has set up an intellectual property service display area for the first time, striving to provide more professional and market-oriented services to innovative entities and promote the transformation of the capital's scientific and technological resource advantages into competitive advantages in economic and social development.

Data shows that in 2024, the number of invention patents authorized in Beijing was 119,635, an increase of 10.90% year-on-year; Beijing has 159.81 high-value invention patents per 10,000 population, ranking first in the country. In the "2024 Global Innovation Index Report" released by the World Intellectual Property Organization, Beijing ranks third in the global technology cluster.

"Technological strength and R&D capabilities are the main driving factors for the development of general artificial intelligence. Beijing and Shanghai have carried out active exploration in related fields, and cities such as Hangzhou and Wuxi are gradually making efforts to catch up." Pu Songtao, director of the Future Industry Research Center of the China Institute of Electronic Information Industry Development, believes that China is entering a new stage from "digitalization" to "intelligent" and is embarking on the application practice of "deep intelligence".

Pu Songtao said that "intelligence" has become the basic condition for reorganizing production factors and reshaping the industrial form. China needs to give full play to its advantages such as the world's largest manufacturing system, and use "artificial intelligence +" to create a new engine for intelligent upgrading of the industry, so that the results of science and technology innovation can be better integrated into people's lives.
