Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs: Pakistan responds responsibly to India's aggression

Xinhua News Agency, Islamabad, May 10 (Reporter Yang Kai) Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement on the 10th saying that for regional peace and stability, Pakistan has made a very responsible, moderate and mature response to India's aggression.

The statement said that the conflict between the two nuclear-bearing countries requires deeper reflection and comprehensive assessment by the international community. Pakistan is willing to engage in constructive diplomacy and dialogue with India to resolve all issues, including the Kashmir issue, through peaceful means.

The statement said that without any evidence, India ignored Pakistan's proposal to conduct a neutral, transparent and credible investigation by international investigators, and launched multiple attacks on Pakistan from the night of May 7 to 10, causing casualties and infrastructure damage. Pakistan exercises its right to self-defense in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter and has to respond to India's unreasonable aggression.

The statement stressed that Pakistan's response to India's conscious efforts to avoid civilian casualties is precise, moderate, targeted and restrained. Only entities, facilities and air bases that have planned, coordinated and implemented the invasion of Pakistan are the targets of Pakistan's attack.

The statement said that Pakistan's sacrifices and contributions to the global fight against terrorism are "unparalleled". Pakistan called on the international community to restrain India and not use so-called "terrorism" to attack Pakistan to ensure lasting peace in the region.
