IT Home reported on May 8 that at the 2025 European Battery Energy Storage Exhibition held on May 7, CATL released the world's first 9MWh ultra-large capacity energy storage system TENER Stack.

CATL said that the TENER Stack uses high-energy-density batteries and five-year zero-attenuation technology. Compared with the traditional 20-foot energy storage system, its volume utilization rate is 45% higher and its energy density is 50%, which can charge 150 electric vehicles.
Xu Jinmei, chief technology officer of CATL and president of European Energy Storage Systems, said in her speech that the product can "meet the market's demand for high energy density, small footprint, simpler AC side configuration and flexible deployment of large battery energy storage systems (BESS).
In addition, TENER Stack supports centralized and string PCS architectures, which can flexibly adapt to different power grid structures, and significantly reduce the number of supporting equipment and system over-allocation costs.
In actual project deployment, the use of TENER Stack for projects with the same capacity will reduce the number of containers by one-third, while improving land use efficiency by 40%, and the overall site construction cost is expected to be reduced by 20%.
In terms of safety, TENER Stack has the characteristics of "resistant to magnitude 9 earthquakes, magnitude 5 hurricanes", "2 hours of fire resistance", and "low noise within 65 decibels".
IT Home noticed that in April last year, CATL released the 20-foot energy storage system TENER with a capacity of 6MWh, which can achieve zero capacity and power attenuation for the first five years of operation.
